Date & Time: Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 9:00 am - 4:00 pm with a 1-hour break for lunch. Bring your lunch or you can go into Hagerman.

Please note: All classes are nonrefundable. Shooters will receive a 1/2 credit for a future class, and a 2nd cancellation will forfeit this credit.

Required Student Skill Level:

This class is for the first time shooter through the advanced marksman looking to obtain a higher level of technique to gain speed and accuracy.

Class Information:

*This is not a long-range precision rifle course.

The class will be focused on detailed fundamentals which include SAFETY, sling adjustment, grips, sight-in, rifle set-up, presentations (low ready and high ready), combat reloads, tactical reloads, recoil control/management.  After the students can demonstrate proper and safe gun handling fundamentals, the main live-fire portion will begin with shooting close-range paper targets to ensure accurate bullet impact awareness and correct shooting fundamentals.  The class will advance through the steel ranges as the class progresses its ability.   

Estimated Round Count:

Students need to bring a minimum of 600 rounds for the course.  ½ of the ammo can be .223 ball for the paper portion of the course and the other ½ MUST be .223 frangible for the steel portion of the course.  We offer both types of ammo at our pro-shop.

End of Class Objective:

The best shooters in the world use a common base of fundamentals to achieve speed and accuracy.  This class will give you an understanding of what the correct techniques are to rifle shooting that will build speed, and accuracy for any level of shooter.

What to Bring:

Bring a rifle, rifle sling, 2 to 3 magazines, mag pouches, belt, ear protection, eye protection, and zero or low magnification rifle optic (4X or lower).  Variable power optics are just fine.  Chest rack or plate carrier optional.

We have a pro-shop at the Shaw Shooting range if equipment and ammunition is needed.  Additionally, if you forget or are unable to acquire some of the required equipment, such as belts, magazine pouches, etc., we can rent equipment out for $10.00.  Firearm rentals are $70.00.
