5-Day Course Curriculum
(3-Day Course is a condensed 5-Day curriculum)
Pistol 1st Day
All clients will shoot a test of live-fire drills so instructors can get a bearing on each student’s ability level. We will record the times of these various drills to establish a level of individual proficiency and then we will compare the shooter’s performance again at the end of training. After the test, the class will start with pistol training on short-distance paper ranges at 7-10 yards to ensure accuracy and correct shooting fundamentals. Shooters will be coached on techniques that improve a shooters speed and accuracy via instruction on sight picture, sight alignment, trigger press, taking the slack out, trigger reset, trigger prep, double-action trigger pull, grip, workspace, presentations, grip pressure, controlled/managed recoil, and stance.
Pistol 2nd Day
On the second day, the class will train on our pistol steel ranges ingraining the
instruction from the previous day. Refining techniques on pistol draws and reloads(combat and tactical) will be added to each shooter’s skill set.
Pistol/Rifle 3rd Day
MISS has 4 tiers of paper/steel standards that combine the use of pistol & rifle to test a shooter’s skill in accuracy, speed, and manipulation. Each tier has 9 drills and a shooter must pass 7 out of the 9 drills to gain access to the next tier level. Based on the performance tested on the first day, shooters will start at the appropriate tier level and progress through each drill until a higher tier level is achieved.
Pistol/Rifle 4th Day
On the fourth day, the class will mostly train on our rifle steel ranges ingraining the instruction from the previous day. It's common to have an opportunity for tier-level testing to advance shooters into a higher tier standard.
Pistol/Rifle 5th Day
The students will rotate through our most advanced pistol and rifle ranges. To finish, each shooter will also have a final tier standard test to analyze the progression throughout the week of training.
